Breakfast-less

I spy something wrong with this picture. Well technically theres nothing wrong with the picture or the salad+hummus combo.  Just the fact that this was the first meal of my day.

I had a late workout class this morning which didn’t end until 11:15am and my sister wanted to have lunch with me so I didn’t get to start my day with breakfast today. I wanted to eat before going to work out but I didn’t think my stomach would appreciate it, so today was a breakfast-less day.  Also known as a sad day. Oh well, I guess I can handle one day…

On a happier note, I spent last night baking up a batch of  vegan samoas (I subbed 1/2 of the unbleached flour with whole wheat pastry flour, used almond milk instead of soy, and decreased the brown sugar to 1 cup), which Jess so kindly recommended and oh.em.geee they are delicious!

So delicious, in fact, that I’m thinking of making a second batch this afternoon for myself, since I’ll be giving away my first batch to my friend who is visiting this weekend.  Basically, if you love coconut and chocolate, make this stat!

Anything fun planned for this weekend?  It is currently pouring outside (my current view-below), but I won’t let this rain ruin my weekend.

I’m really excited to go try a new restaurant (Bolsa) tonight which I’ve heard so many good things about!  And tomorrow night, I’ll be dining out with another friend who’s also in town this weekend. Then Sunday night I’ll be eating out once again to celebrate my sisters 18th birthday!  Lot’s of eating out for me this weekend.  I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.  I’m have a strange relationship with eating out.  Sometimes I love it, sometimes I hate it. It has a lot to do with where I eat and what’s on the menu.  I’m not a picky eater, but I like fresh and unprocessed ingredients, which seems to be lacking in many places.
