Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

My name is Kris and I’m currently an MBA student taking on life one day at a time (literally).  I’m still working on finding that perfect job where I can be excited going to work each day or at least something close to that (keep dreaming, right?).

I love traveling, free weights, stand-up paddling, sparkling water, long walks on the beach, and eating (sweets and breakfasts in particular)…

As a self-proclaimed foodie I fell head over heels in love with baking as I neared the end of high school and haven’t stopped baking since.  All those years of delicious foods and baking really caught up with me and I was beginning to realize what it was doing to my health.  And it certainly didn’t help that I had gone from 6+ years of competitive swimming to zero exercise at all.

To this day I’m not really sure how it happened, but something inside me just seemed to just click and I had a sudden realization of just how much processed and unhealthy foods I had been eating all those years.

In the beginning, starting a healthier lifestyle was just so I could lose a few pounds, but I never expected to actually enjoy this new lifestyle and all the delicious new foods that came with it (especially BREAKFAST :P).  With this new healthier lifestyle I also began to start exercising again and actually enjoying it, which, if you know me, is truly a milestone in itself.

I believe in healthy eating, but I don’t put any labels on my eating habits.  To me food is something we should enjoy and not restrict ourselves from.  Stay active, eat clean, enjoy it – that’s what I live by.

I started this blog as a way to document my journey through life as I eat, travel, and work to figure out what it is I want to do in life.  Any readers I gain along the way are an added bonus and I warmly welcome you to everyday oats 🙂

    Oh I know how oat-love feels Kris:) I made the switch to Oats in Sept 2010. That was the first time I ever tasted it and glad to say, my breakfasts have been uber-exciting ever since!
