What I’ve Been Up To

Yesterday I went to Shenzhen, China for the day and didn’t get home until late and was too tired to write up a post.

I actually haven’t been spending much time at home partly because the space is just so small and also because once I’m out it’s just easier to stay out the rest of the day since I’m walking and it’s not always convenient to just go all the way home.

Heres what I’ve been up to lately:

Figuring out how to use an unfamiliar blender

Making almond milk ice cubes

Drinking chocolate protein shakes

Forgetting that I have no car and that everything I buy here has to be carried home

(Note to selfdo NOT buy huge bottles of water, drinks, shampoo/conditioner, and toilet paper all at once. It starts getsreally heavy halfway home.)

Finding out that one of my favorite soy drinks comes in multiple flavors

Coconut soy milk

Melon, red bean, chocolate, and dark chocolate soy milk

Eating TONS of food

I went to a buffet today and ate more than my fair share of food. I only managed to take a picture of my first and last two plates. Everything I ate in between I forgot to photograph because I was too busy eating…

dragon fruit, watermelon, pineapple, and cheese

tuna, salmon, abalone, and crab sashimi

spinach noodle soup

All the dessert looked too good to pass up so I decided to try it all(!).  I had little slivers of  strawberry mousse cheesecake, vanilla bread pudding, tiramisu, black sesame and banana mousse, pear tart, and gluten free almond and orange cake, plus some pineapple, watermelon, and dragon fruit.

Everything here is delicious, but I’m beginning to miss my usual eats. Particularly oats and waffles.

Drinking my weight in milk tea

Trying new workouts

Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30

After I saw how much Kalli liked Jillian Michael’s DVD’s I thought I’d give fitness DVD’s a go. I tried it for the first time two days ago and I’m loving it! I love how she keeps the heart rate up and gets through the workout quickly, but efficiently.

The New Rules of Lifting for Women

I’ve heard many good things about this book and I also really enjoyed reading all of Amanda’s thoughts on the book so I bought it before I came to Hong Kong and started reading it yesterday. I got through the majority of the book and started stage 1 of the workout plan this morning. Loving it 🙂

Tonight will be spent packing because I’m taking a mini trip to a beachy place. My next post will be from paradise – at least that’s what I hope it’ll be! I’ll let ya know 🙂

Have a fabulous Thursday!

I love that about cities too! Taking your time and walking at whatever pace you want.
Whenever I walk around the streets at home people look at me like I’m crazy.

I’ll definitely have to check out born to run! Thanks for the rec!

  2. You got NROLFW! Yay! Ahh I absolutely love that book… I’m about halfway through stage 1 and really starting to see some improvements in my strength – it’s great 😀 And I can imagine that you’d be missing some of your favorite foods… it was the same way when I was in Europe over the summer a few years ago. There was good food to eat, for sure, but I missed my oats, and my almond butter, and all my good cereals lol. But enjoy your time there, ’cause it’ll be time to go back home before you know it, and then maybe you’ll be missing China.

Ripped in 30 is a pretty good DVD. I was doing it two months ago and I liked it. But I like toher Jillian´s DVD´s probably more 🙂
Dragon fruit, watermelon and pineapple – such a good combination, I like those fruits and they all look so pretty.¨
I also always buy too many things and then half way home feel like dying 🙂
